The purpose of Oak Ridge Baptist Church is to fulfill the Great Command (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by:
- Bringing people to Jesus and membership in His family,
- Leading believers to Christ-like maturity through Bible Study and teaching,
- Healing hurts within the Body of Christ,
- Equipping believers for their ministry and mission,
- Sending believers out to minister through mission endeavors, and
- Securing honor and glory to God, our Savior.
Oak Ridge Baptist Church was established September 16, 1956, and purchased land at the current location in Hudson Oaks, though the township of Hudson Oaks did not yet exist. Ground was broken in October 1959 with the first service being held in November of 1959 in the partially completed building. Sunday School attendance was 130.
The church building and facilities have been through several changes, remodeling, updating, and expansion through the years. In November of 2015, a straight-winds storm tore off a large portion of the roof and flooded several of the rooms and offices in our educational wing. We are pleased that the repairs and improvements that resulted from this disaster have finally been completed, but we’re still working to make things better and better.
The size of our congregation has fluctuated over the years, but our zeal for the Lord and our desire to keep this church open for His glory have prevailed. We are now growing again, both in numbers and in biblical and spiritual maturity. Praise be to the Lord! God is good!
We, the members of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, will express our love for God and our neighbors by:
- Growing the church membership, both in numbers and in maturity, to be able to more effectively minister in the community and to share the good news message of Jesus Christ;
- Sharing the good news message of Jesus Christ through personal and corporate evangelism, beginning with our surrounding community;
- Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ around the world by giving of our financial resources for local, state, national, and world mission endeavors, and by participating, where possible, in those mission endeavors.

A graduate of Aledo High School with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, Blake comes to ORBC with many years of experience in the construction business as well as a heart for missions and outreach. He has participated in missions endeavors to Belize, Mexico, and Ethiopia. He organized a non-profit entity to be a sending agency for mission work here and abroad which also resulted in his establishing an online mission store to sell products made by poor people in Mexico. These were people with whom he and his family formed relationships through workshops which they conducted which were also opportunities to initiate Bible study groups and to share Jesus. Blake and his lovely wife, Summer, have six children ages 15 years to two months. They are home-schooled by Summer who is a gifted teacher. As a family, they have made 15 trips over a period of 5 years to Rio Bravo, Mexico. Blake also has his own construction business which allows him to serve the church in a bi-vocational position. (He does excellent work, by the way!)
